Telegraph Road Heswall

Gilling Dod were commissioned to undertake the refurbishment and extension of an existing retail building in the centre of Heswall, Wirral. Following the demise of Kwik Save (one of the major tenants) approx. 985 m² (10,602 ft²) of prime ground floor accommodation is currently vacant. Seeing this as an opportunity to invest in the fabric of the building Davies Estate Management Co., the building owners, have decided to undertake a programme of major refurbishment and extension works which will revitalise the site. The brief was to increase the retail offer in Heswall by providing a range of unit sizes whilst ensuring the building was brought up to current standards. A decision was taken at an early stage to largely retain the existing structure and to reclad the existing facades in a contemporary fashion. The images illustrated here show the building in its current state and the proposed facade treatment. Planning permission was granted 31st July 2008.
