What We Did

This project included the refurbishment and re-development of No 70 Penny Lane a once derelict building adjoining the Dovedale Towers in Mossley Hill, Liverpool.

Phase one of the project involved the redevelopment of the centre providing a facility available for use by the whole community, including local youth groups, artists wanting to hold exhibitions, and other community based organisations.

Gilling Dod liaised closely with the client to obtain the lottery funding from the Government’s Community Assets Programme to secure funding for the first phase of the project. The brief for phase two included a second building to accommodate additional community services including flexible performance and recording facilities, café, shop, exhibition space and offices together with accommodation for sport and recreation facilities to provide changing facilities and outdoor all weather sports pitches.
