Castle Vale Primary Care Medical and Resource Centre
Client: Eastern Birmingham Primary Care Trust
Location: Birmingham
Value: £3.3Million
Status: Completed 2004.
The Castlevale Primary Care Medical and Resource Centre development provides a range of community health facilities in the inner city area of Birmingham, known as Castlevale and is part of a local regeneration scheme aimed at uplifting the surrounding area.
The two storey building provided a large waiting area at ground floor and facilities for a GP practice including a minor surgical unit, enhanced community and adult health services and a child and family resource centre. The first floor accommodation provided offices and administration facilities for community services including health visitors, district nurses together with a 24 hour vulnerable witness protection suite available for the police. The existing health centre on the suite was demolished and temporary facilities were provided on an adjacent site until the new accommodation was available. The building is approx 1500 m2 and was procured via the NHS Procure21 framework with Costains appointed as the supply chain partner.
