Bridgnorth Hospital
Client: Shropshire County NHS Primary Care Trust
Location: Bridgnorth, Shropshire
Value: £6 Million
Status: Completed 2006.
Gilling Dod were appointed as Architects for the final major phase of the development of Bridgnorth Hospital under the Procure21 NHS framework with Costain as PSCP. The scheme comprised a two storey extension of approx 1900 sq m to an existing 1920’s building replacing a number of dilapidated temporary buildings. The site was very restricted and located on the edge of the conservation area.
The new facilities provide modern, high quality, flexible facilities for both staff and local people to access outpatients, inpatients, day surgery, dental services, minor injuries, audiology, podiatry and diagnostic services. The scheme also included a new state of the art maternity unit and enhanced rehabilitation and treatment service facilities.
