Gilling Dod were commissioned to design a 13 bed medium secure ward, 4 bed intensive care unit and 2 bed seclusion suite to compliment and add to the successful phase 1 wards completed in 2007. The scheme was carried out under the National Procure21 NHS framework with Laing O’Rourke as the main contractor. The scheme includes landscape secure gardens and a new inner ring road for service vehicles. The majority of the building is single storey with a 2 storey element being solely for the accommodation of the plant room.

BREEAM excellent rating was targeted and achieved for this project.
