Red Bank Community House offers care for up to 40 young men and women in four secure units and three specialist therapeutic open units with education provided on site. Gilling Dod Architects worked with Red Bank Community home to deliver a new Secure Education unit to cater for young offenders.
The new unit replaces an existing facility built in the 1960's and provides 15 class bases in a pleasant but secure environment and caters for activities including tuition of English Maths and Sciences, Arts and crafts including pottery, vocational trades such as plumbing, bricklaying, electrical engineering and hairdressing, design technology including woodworking, music, drama, cookery, IT and motor vehicle maintenance. Externally secure areas are provided for outdoor games, a fishing pond, a vehicle test track and a horticultural area with green house and raised planting beds.
