Gilling Dod were appointed to carry out a series of works to upgrade and extend The Oldershaw School. The work was carried out in four phases and included the alteration and extension of a former photographic laboratory building to provide art, drama and music facilities, kitchen and dining accommodation and a new three storey science block providing laboratories for the teaching of biology, chemistry and physics.

The scheme also included a new extension to the existing gymnasium to provide an additional multi function sports hall and the extension and alterations to the main school building to provide domestic science, woodwork, metal work and IT teaching facilities and a new 2 storey link classroom block providing special needs and foreign languages facilities.
