The latest phase of refurbishment work at the Midwife Led Unit at Liverpool Womens Hospital has now been completed and handed over to the Trust.

This unit has achieved a degree of fame in recent times by having the Channel 4 television series, One Born Every Minute made there and the work has been bought to a conclusion around the team who are still filming the current series.

The hospital is only one of two in the UK dedicated to the care and treatment of women and their families, as well as being the largest hospital of its kind in Europe and is a nationally recognised Centre of Excellence.

Interestingly, this is not the first Gilling Dod project to be the basis of a TV series. Children's Hospital was a series based partially at the Alder Hey A & E department , designed by Gilling Dod in the 1990’s, and was broadcast regularly on BBC One into the early-2000s.
