Gilling Dod Architects were appointed to undertake and develop a 400 unit master plan for a key worker and affordable housing residences project to be delivered across two sites in the North West in Blackburn and Burnley. The Royal Blackburn site was to consist of accommodation for key worker staff of 192 bedrooms for both medical and clinical staff and was to consist of 4 beds and 2 bathroom shower type apartments in a domestic arrangement. At the Burnley Hospital site we were to provide 25% key worker / affordable accommodation with the remainder of the site to be for residential accommodation for sale by a private developer.
