Gilling Dod were commissioned to design a bespoke 62 bed specialist care facility on a previously developed site in Sale, Greater Manchester. The scheme provides for early onset dementia care and some acquired brain injury care arranged around a central courtyard space.

The form of the building is a direct response to its context and was influenced by the proximity of surrounding buildings as well as mature trees to the perimeter of the site. Elevations have been designed using the golden section and utilise red brick and render for principal facades whilst timber cladding have been used to distinguish the service and therapy spaces from the rest in the building.
